"This definitely different than it was 20 years ago. We got through seven weeks of rehearsing without a single argument," laughs Stevie Nicks, who is reteaming with her former Fleetwood Mac bandmates-Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie and Lindsey Buckingham-for a fall tour, an MTV concert (August 12, 10 p.m. ET) and a live album. "We're older and wiser and a little more mellow - and not so eager to get into a fight."
Although the members of the popular '70s group have stayed in touch over the years, Buckingham, who left the group in 1987, hasn't always been on good terms with Nicks. The two dated in the band's heyday, and their tumultuous breakup (as well as that of the once-married McVies) was documented in the lyrics of 1977's Rumours album. But it was Buckingham's willingness to come back onboard that sparked the reunion concert. "In an eerie sort of way it felt as if we had only been apart for a year," says Nicks of rehearsing the old hits with the group. "[Lindsey and my] voices are just good together. We can't help but be proud of how we sound, and you can see that in our faces."
